Mary Hartshorn - Sunday School Superintendant

I have been attending Penny Road Church of the Nazarene since 1995 with my husband, Eric, and our three children. I have been involved in many different ministries throughout those years. My walk with the Lord has become much deeper because of the many wonderful Sunday School teachers we have. I feel the Lord led me to this position and through Him we can do great work. Chad Steinacker - Music

My wife Julie and I have been members of Penny Road Church of the Nazarene since we relocated to the Raleigh area in 1999. We both grew up in the Midwest and met at Olivet Nazarene University playing in the concert band. Serving the Lord with our musical talents has always been important to us and we seek to share that with others. The Lord has also blessed our marriage with a large number of children and we enjoy serving the Lord as a family with the gifts He has given us. We are very thankful that we have found a Christ centered place of worship and ministry and look forward to what He has in store for Penny Road Church of the Nazarene and our community.

It is the desire of the music department to provide a place of Christian service and fellowship for adults and teens that wish to use their talents for the Lord. Our worship services incorporate a blend of scripture, traditional hymns and praise choruses (band included) as well as modern and traditional choir music with vocal and instrumental testimonies. We strive to provide a meaningful and inviting framework for worship that appeals to a wide range of musical preferences while keeping our focus on Christ.

Denise Miller - Children's Ministries

My family and I started attending Penny Road Nazarene Church in 1993 and became members in 1994. We were looking for a church home, liked the small "family" atmosphere here, and coming from a Nazarene background, knew it was a great fit for us. I truly enjoy my ministry, working with our wonderful group of kids. Watching their eager, happy faces as they learn about our Lord Jesus Christ is truly a blessing in my life. I look forward to working with our Children's Ministry team as we work together to "Grow God's Kingdom".

Patty Fox - Teen Ministries

I have been a member of Penny Road Church of the Nazarene for several years now. Teen ministry is an important part of the ministry of this church and I am so pleased to be a part of it. I have been active in Teen Ministry for over 10 years before moving to North Carolina. I have directed the teen program of my local church, taught Sunday School and midweek teen services, planned and directed weekend retreats and week-long teen camps, and planned and led 4 Mission Trips with teens to foreign mission fields. I am excited about the teen ministry at Penny Road Church of the Nazarene and look forward to what God is continuing to do in the hearts and lives of the teens.

Trishia Velasquez - Women's Ministries

Born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts I attended Eastern Nazarene College where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. Having taught for several years, my travels led me to California where I received my MA in Administration from Asuza Pacific University. It was in California that I met my husband, Emil Velasquez. We have two children, Lisa and Emil and four grandchildren, Briana, Joseph, Rachel and Emily. We have attended Penny Road Church for about five years. My hobbies include: cooking, gardening, photography, and scrapbooking. I enjoy walking, biking, journaling, singing in the choir, traveling with my husband and spending time with our grandchildren.

Brian Gossett - Men's Ministries

I have been attending Penny Road Church of the Nazarene since January 2001 with my wife, Liane, and our three children. Originally, from Phoenix, Arizona, I grew up in the Nazarene church and graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University. I have taught adult Sunday School classes for over 12 years and believe that Sunday School is the connecting point for many of the ministries in the church. Through the use of solid resources, dynamic teachers and engaging interaction, Sunday School at Penny Road Nazarene Church challenges people to grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Dean and Rose Zachos - Senior Ministries

We worshipped at a Nazarene Church on the Metro NY District and liked the denomination, its Missionary work and Camp Taconic, our Nazarene Campground, in Red Hook NY. We found Penny Road Church of the Nazarene and loved the people and leaders, the teachings, its mission and dedication of so many. We have worshiped here for 3 years now, having started a church library. Our core group is the Front Line Seniors, many of whom are in our Sunday School Class, and also in our Home Group Bible Study. We left New York and everything we knew, to come to a totally unknown place, knowing the Savior holds our future, and directs our path.

Nancy Burl - NMI President (Nazarene Missions International)

I was born and raised in Saranac Lake, New York, by a loving, godly grandmother. She made sure I attended the local Nazarene church faithfully. Like so many others, I decided to go my own way. I thank God every day for my Christian background, without which I probably would have never returned to God. When I moved to Cary in 2001, I knew that I had to return to my roots. God led me to Penny Road Church where I was welcomed with open arms. Very soon my husband, Preston, also started coming to church. We have never known such peace and contentment as we have now serving our risen Savior at his lovely church.

My passion to serve Jesus has led me to missions. Matthew 28:19 says, "Therefore go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." My prayer is that every Christian will take this scripture to heart. Whether it means going, praying for or giving to missions, everyone is called to support our missionaries.

Lee Hartley - Church Secretary

I have attended Penny Road Nazarene Church since 1993 and have enjoyed working as church secretary for many years. When I'm not working part-time in the office, my family keeps me plenty busy.

I have been working as a secretary at Penny Road since 1998. The church office work brings an added dimension to my life and has many rewards. I have learned about the many facets of church work and witnessed the dedication of those who serve so faithfully.

Glenn Voigt - Adult Ministries

My wife, Linda, and I have attended Penny Road Church of the Nazarene since we moved here in 2002 to be near our daughter , son-in-law and grandchildren. During the years of visiting here, we knew that if we ever moved here, this is the church we would attend. We love the pastor and church family; they are so warm and welcoming.

We have been part of the Nazarene Church for decades, and have been active in its ministries. We look forward to what God is going to do in this church and praise Him for all that He has already done here.
